Having been fitted out in Den Helder with an Offshore Access System (OAS) fabricated by Offshore Solutions, supply vessel Rem Mermaid started work on 10 February on behalf of GDF SUEZ E&P Nederland. The supply vessel, operated by the Norwegian company Rem Maritime based in Fosavag, will be deployed as a maintenance vessel for the platforms of GDF SUEZ in the Dutch sector of the North Sea. An Offshore Access System is a swell-compensated  gangway via which maintenance personnel can safely transfer from a moving vessel onto an offshore platform.
